  • Young Haflinger mare - very easy keeper, barefoot most of her life
  • Trail/Dressage work
  • Diet consists of soaked local hay
  • Lives in paddock area with pea gravel and open stall
  • Will develop fat pockets if not worked regularly
  • Left quarter hoof walls longer because hooves would often react slightly to trimming
  • Hooves suddenly started growing in a tighter hoof wall connection after owner began soaking hay in hot instead of cold water, approx mid 2009 - nothing else changed
  • Mare has not reacted to trimming since then (5 week interval)
